Abenaqui is the only private member owned country club in the Seacoast and with that comes many benefits. Members enjoy this club in countless ways. Abenaqui has a strong foundation of history, tradition and true camaraderie. We offer wonderful amenities for Golf and Dining and Social Memberships.  All memberships include full family Tennis!

Our hope is that you will sense a warm and welcoming atmosphere from staff and members alike from the moment you arrive.

Abenaqui is well known for our great 6,632 yards - 18 hole golf course, constructed over 100 acres. There is a very active men’s and ladies leaque, member-guest and member-member tournaments, and several trophy tournaments throughout the season. Our signature 3-day men’s tournament The Summer Classic and our women's 2-day Summer Classic.  Private and group lessons and clinics are available to members and non-members. There is a well established junior program for kids of all ages. From toddlers to young adults, our Abenaqui kids enjoy our numerous camps and clinics. Abenaqui welcomes member and member-sponsored golf tournaments.

Abenaqui has a wonderful tennis program which is available to all members and their immediate family members. We have four Har-Tru courts. There is an active program of leagues, round robins, mixed doubles, socials, and more! Private and group lessons and clinics are available to members and non-members. There is a long standing junior program for all kids from toddlers to young adults; camps, clinics and lessons.

Abenaqui’s dining facilities are superb. Our executive chef and sous chef give every dish their personal attention. Social events abound all year long starting with Valentine’s Day to end of December holiday parties! Family events are numerous with summer bar-b-ques, music, and entertainment for the whole family, Mother’s Day Brunch, Easter Brunch with egg hunts, Halloween Party, Breakfast with Santa, and Gingerbread decorating and more!

We also have a very active bridge, whist and duplicate bridge program for those interested in cards.

Q. How are new Members sponsored?

A. Here are the basics...

  1. Proposed new members are sponsored by current club members. If they don’t think they know a current member, they should contact our Membership and Marketing Director,  Lisa Lombardi at 603.379.8326.

  2. The sponsors and proposed new member submit a Proposal for New Member form along with a $500 non-refundable deposit.

  3. An introductory meeting with the Membership Committee is scheduled, nominees and sponsors names are posted for 30 days and a meeting with the Board of Governors is arranged.

  4. Upon Board approval, club membership is offered! The complete process can take 45 - 60 days depending on the schedules of those involved.
     

Q. Is there a wait to become a member?

A. There is no wait to become an social member. Once the membership procedure is completed, membership is offered immediately. New members join at anytime throughout the year and our club is open year round. All memberships include family tennis. Please contact the membership office to see if there is a waitlist for golf memberships. If there is a golf waitlist, members may join as an Associate Golfer until a golf spot opens up.

Q. What does a new membership cost?

A. The financial obligation to join the club includes the purchase of a refundable membership certificate, a one-time non-refundable initiation fee for club social members and a non-refundable Golf initiation fee for golfing members (this can be financed over five years). Annually, all members, including new members, pay club dues according to their chosen category. Q. Is there a minimum spending in the dining room required?

A. There is an annual minimum of $630 for one person and $1260 for two people over two cycles in a calendar year. This includes food and beverage in the Grill Room as well as all social club events.
 

Q. What type of structure is Abenaqui Country Club?

A. Abenaqui is a member owned club, operated as a not-for-profit corporate organization. All voting Members hold non-interest bearing membership certificates which are redeemable at face value upon joining the Century Club, resigning from the club, or if the club becomes insolvent.
